1. Which project was your favorite or most successful this semester? Please explain.
This is my latest project and my favorite out of them all. I Enjoyed molding the clay into the exact image I wanted it. The shark is a little bigger than I expected. I used a wooden stick that I bought to make the seal look like it was flying over the shark, trying to survive. I am not a huge fan of sharks, but I knew that I could make this one of the best I have ever done. Every detail took a lot of clay...and paint. In the end I made my master piece.
2. Regardless of whether you liked or disliked a project, which one did you learn, grow, or developed the most from? Please explain.
This project really showed me of how good of a artist I am, and not good at not blinking when taking a picture. I really enjoyed that there was so many details on putting Lindsey from photograph to drawing. I learned that good art is not a simple walk in the park; It takes a lot of work and concentration. I used the photo to make sure I had the right amount of shading. Lindsey was even impressed with it. With this artwork, I learned how much talent I have in just art.All I need now is to not blink when taking a picture.
3. Choose 1 piece of Art that you used skills and techniques learned from previous projects. Discuss your growth as an artist and how you incorporated these skills and techniques to create the piece.
God bless the USA. This project really brought out my skills and that I really learned from. It took a long time to cut out the Statue of Liberty. I am not very good at cutting and keeping a steady hand. With this project I learn I could cut and keep a steady hand, which is a lot easier for my greeting card business, CollegeDreaminkid. I also learned how easy it is to spray paint something. I made a beautiful picture and it is going to be put in an exhibit. That is awesome.
4. Which project do you feel was the least important in learning the concepts taught in this course? Please explain.
I loved all of the project that we were assigned this, but this was my least favorite. Which by the way is a 7/10. I did like that it was a group project because this was not an easy project to do by our self. This was really fun to use chalk, except chalk can easily was away in the rain and we did it right in the middle of the rainy time in fall. We did not get our ruined. I found this project the least important because it was made of chalk and it could easily get ruined. Also the fact that we used a brick wall because it just absorbed the chalk, so we had to use a lot of it. I still enjoyed it though.
5. Choose a piece of artwork where the subject matter reflects
you as an artist; one that you have a personal connection to. Please explain your choice.
This artwork does not fully show what I want to do. but it is the closest thing to it. I want to be a cartoonist, as well as an author. I have alway been good at creating ideas and drawing. Shading is also a breeze. I am really good at just drawing ideas that I have and drawing an actual thing. Sometimes if you are really good at something, it stands out more than other things. I have always been good at drawing, even when I was little. I could draw a dinosaur without lifting the pencil off the paper when I was in Kindergarden. Everyone is good at something, I am really good at drawing and creating.
